Why I Am Writing Again
Recently we updated the look and feel of BruceCohnFitness.com. As I read and amended the various pages, I realized that I had not written an original blog for almost 18 months. Some of that was because I chose to concentrate on creating instructional videos of more than two dozen exercises which have appeared on my BruceCohnFitness page on Facebook as well as my Coach Bruce YouTube channel.
But I also chose to step back from writing because of my dismay over the state of too many fitness blogs which trash what other people are doing but make little or no contribution to getting good information about training to the public. I have always enjoyed writing and believe that my past writings on the site as well as in local and national newspapers have helped to make complicated information simpler and more accessible. I want to do that again.
Another motivating factor to start writing again has been based on listening to my explanations of the various videos. I have found myself wishing I had said things differently or, in some cases, changed my mind about certain exercises based on what I am continuing to learn by working with a diverse clientele. By posting these videos on the BruceCohnFitness.com site I can add these comments and, hopefully, stimulate more thought and discussion among my readers.
I have been blessed throughout my career to be surrounded by smart and talented coaches, trainers and therapists. I have grown in my knowledge and understanding of fitness, anatomy and motivation from discussions with these many professionals and can only hope that I might do the same for others.
I will always try to tell you the “why” behind my training approach and welcome hearing from those who either agree or disagree (without being disagreeable) with my thinking. So please share your comments and let the conversation begin.
